Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Male infertility is becoming more common and male factor issues contribute to approximately 50% of infertile couples. Sperm problems include low sperm count, reduced sperm motility; abnormally shaped sperm and antibodies that make the sperm clump together thus preventing progression or a combination of these. In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is where eggs and sperm are placed in a dish to attempt to allow fertilisation to occur.

This can occur on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder and on the ligaments supporting the uterus. Endometriosis is estimated to affect 10% of women in the reproductive age group.
