Donor Programs

The use of donated gametes (egg or sperm) or embryos offers a chance for a couple to have a child when either the female has no viable eggs or the male has no sperm. Find out more about the donor process.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found elsewhere in the body, usually on the peritoneum that lines the abdominal cavity. This can occur on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder and on the ligaments supporting the uterus. Endometriosis is estimated to affect 10% of women in the reproductive age group.

Fertility Problems

The process of getting pregnant is complex as many events must occur at the right time. Most couples assume conception will follow immediately after birth control is discontinued. Find out more about the process and what issues can occur.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Male infertility is becoming more common and male factor issues contribute to approximately 50% of infertile couples. Sperm problems include low sperm count, reduced sperm motility; abnormally shaped sperm and antibodies that make the sperm clump together thus preventing progression or a combination of these. In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is where eggs and sperm are placed in a dish to attempt to allow fertilisation to occur.

Intralipid In Infertility

Some types of infertility may be caused by a slightly overactive immune system. When this occurs the immune system can attack the oocyte (egg), sperm, embryo and even a developing foetus.
